Moodies are safe to use on all CFL or LED lightbulbs. Consult this chart below to see if Moodies will work with your lightbulbs:
Check carefully, LEDS look similar to incandescents. Look for a large bottom base. This is where the electronics are stored.
LED stands for Light Emitting Diodes. These bulbs are new to the market, usually much more expensive than CFLs. They are starting to come down in price though and should replace CFLs entirely in the next few years.
LEDs are known for their incredibly energy efficient way of creating light without heat. Moodies love them some LED lightbulbs for the reason. LEDS can get warm, but not too warm that Moodies don't want to snuggle all up in their business.
CFL stands for Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs. You know, the spiral bulbs that look like a soft serve ice cream cone and a regular lightbulb went on a date and made a baby?
These bulbs love to cozy up with Moodies and try on different colored outfits. Who says lightbulbs don't like to have fun?
Moodies do not play well with Old Style Incandescent bulbs like Filament Bulbs or Halogens. Check these if you're unsure:
Filament Incandescents are unpopular and Moodies do not like hanging out with them. Like, OMG, we are not friends, OK?
Filament Incandescents were the most common, iconic lightbulb for over 100 years! These standard bearers wasted a lot of energy though. In fact, over 70% of the energy that they used were lost as heat, making this a pretty wasteful choice for light. Moodies don't like to be associated with these inefficient bulbs and will melt in protest if you use them together. While there is no fire risk from using Moodies with incandescents, you will have one unhappy Moodie.
Same goes for you Mr Halogen. You think you're so cool but you get too hot to handle, let alone snuggle up to a Moodie!
